Random Distractions (: is an exhibition imagined by Alice and Lucas, a communicator and a designer respectively, which took place between September 25 and 28, 2025 in Brussels as part of design september. Driven by a shared passion for engaged, accessible, and meaningful design, we conceived this exhibition as an expression of our desire to collaborate on a project embodying our shared aspirations: to imagine, create and, above all, convey a form of design that resonates with the current challenges facing our society.
Random Distractions (: explores other ways of doing and thinking design, through a transdisciplinary, open-source approach. It questions the links between critical thinking, creative process, and collective engagement through 6 projects, objects, or installations, blending circularity, engineering, and current socio-political dynamics. Rather than glorifying the final result, this exhibition highlights the detours often encountered along the way: hesitant prototypes, inspiring failures, unfinished or revived ideas, and unexpected exchanges between friends, artists, engineers, or curious minds.
Random Distractions (: aims to be a living, interactive, and evolving space of exploration, inviting visitors to dive into the behind-the-scenes of contemporary design creation. The last day also brought together two multidisciplinary artist friends, Random friends.
