Playful and immersive eyes-following experience
A set of screens paired with a custom-built light path. The light is guided through a mirror installed under a spotlight; the mirror can move in multiple degrees of freedom, allowing the light spot to be directed anywhere. The installation runs in two modes: manual and autonomous. In manual mode, the user guides the light spot across a projected wall, and the eyes on the screens follow it. In autonomous mode, the spotlight moves across the wall at random speeds and directions, with the eyes following on their own.
A custom Python program on a Raspberry Pi 4 controls, via serial commands, an Arduino that acts as the main processor for the moving spotlight. The same Python program also generates the visuals projected onto the multiple screens.
