Floating, reactive cloths

White, semi-transparent cloths that are moved and shaped by electric fans, with light sources projected onto their curved surfaces. Two approaches were explored: low-power, fully controllable fans, and high-power, low-control fans (3 fixed modes). A control protocol was built for each: the high-power fans were modified with electronic relay switches, while the fully controllable fans are piloted through Arduino. Both fan types are then controlled through TouchDesigner, enabling semi-autonomous installations where fan power can be triggered by parameters such as music frequency or volume.
