Collaborative touchdesigner workshops, collective learning and joint exhibition

Restartzip, a series of collaborative workshops for TouchDesigner (a node-based software for building interactive, real-time audiovisual content), built around collective learning and ending in a joint exhibition. Open to beginners and intermediate users: from people already using TouchDesigner to those working in scenography, music or installations who want to start. Each evening session combines basics and knowledge transfer with participants working on their own projects in parallel; each day, participants present a part of their project related to the session topic, and the group learns from each other’s code and workflows. Five sessions:

1. What’s possible: examples & use cases
   A tour of real projects and setups that combine PC, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, TouchDesigner and Processing, to show what these tools can do in installations, scenography and live shows.
2. Foundations: interface, workflow & operators
   Get comfortable in TouchDesigner: navigating the interface, structuring a project, and understanding the operator families and how data flows between them.
3. Generative visuals & output: from data to projection
   Create generative 2D/3D visuals from different data sources, then render and send them to projectors, screens and physical surfaces.
4. Interaction & live performance: audio, MIDI & external software
   Make visuals react in real time to sound and MIDI, and connect TouchDesigner with Ableton and other software for live performance.
5. Physical computing: Arduino & sensors
   Bring the physical world into your project by linking Arduino and sensors to TouchDesigner, so movement, light or touch can control visuals and the space around them.

Participants’ projects are then shown together in a joint exhibition.
