visual coding performance

A visual and performative project linking code, hardware, and movement. It regroups programs, installations, and systems designed to generate real-time visuals from sensors (camera, microphone, distance, microcontroller…). Whether or not there is human interaction, the system translates gesture, sound, or presence into image. The version presented here uses a Kinect to visualize a danced performance, even in extreme conditions such as night, rain, or fog.

Built with visual-coding tools such as Isadora, TouchDesigner, and Processing, Ritmo favors raw, homemade, sensitive systems that combine code, sensors, machines, and bodies. Its forms range from a solo danced performance to an autonomous installation generating its own choreography of light.
